Week 73

This week we got two new investigators names Harji and Kasinder. They are a married couple from India. They both go to university here and they are just the sweetest! I love them. They came to church this Sunday and they like the lessons and understand really well. They have many questions and want to know where the truth is. So, we enjoy teaching them:)
We also went to go do some yard work for a member named Leah! She is the best! We loved being there and helping her out! We got soup after! She makes the best soups!!
We also worked on and finished all the flyers for the family history class that we will be doing for members and nonmembers. We also had interviews this week with President. And we had an exchange this week. And so I was with Sister Richards and Sister Hudson was with Sister Broekzitter.
We also had the Missionary Broadcast this week! It was very good! It was a massive broadcast to all the missionaries world wide. And there have been some changes made in the mission schedule and key indicators. I think the new changes will help us missionaries a lot!
We also saw Rosie this week and that was really nice! We had family home evening with her and her daughter and mother. Alexis her daughter drew us pictures:)
And on Saturday we were invited to a dinner from our landlord Gene. He owns a restaurant and let us come for free and try the food. And we set up another time that we could see his family! It was amazing! We also did some contacting this week with the banner.
It was a good busy week! I love Cyprus! Its been great! We are learning a lot!!
Love you all,
Sister Ramsay

Week 72

This week we had a few lessons with some of the members and less-actives! Leah made us dinner one night! She is amazing! We also had the opportunity to go door knocking and going street contacting. It was really great because we met a bunch of people that we were able to talk to about the gospel and invite to church. We met a couple from Bulgaria and we saw them all week! It was really cool! We also went to go do service and helped bag up fruit and vegetables for the poor and needy. The other volunteers there gave us a huge bag of oranges so I decided to make juice out of them:) We also have a lot of lemon trees here and so we picked a few as well. We also did a cookie service to some members in the branch and our building we had a few people that told us we could come back and so that was really exciting. This week we had the impression of serving one of our members. So every time we passed by her place we would leave a note of encouragement and love. And on Sunday we received a note back saying how grateful she was for our service. We didnt realize how much of a help it was to her. It really helped me see how God really does put us in the places we need to be. I love you all! And I am so grateful I can serve and love these people!!
Love you all,

Week 71 Larnaca Again

Hello!
I am now in Larnaca and I love it! I am with a new sister from England. Her name is Sister Hudson! She is so funny and sweet! I am really glad I get to be with her! I love being able to learn from her and help her into this new missionary life!
This week we were blessed to have two other sisters with us. They were supposed to go to Thess, but their apartment had no heating so they will be going over there on Wednesday. It has been really great splitting up the work with them and visiting as many people as we can!
We went to go see some of the members and less-actives to let them know that sisters were back in the area. Since I had been in Athens there hadnt been any sisters. And so it was really touching to see how many members remembered me and missed us. We went to go see a sister. And she had felt a bit lonely and so when we went over to see her it was so beautiful to see how much she appreciated us coming over and sharing a message with her. She even gave us a name of someone who might be interested in learning more and so that was wonderful!
We also went door knocking and I was able to find the old lady I had met when I was here last time. Joan. She is a very sweet lady. When I had left Cyprus I wasnt able to reach her before I left and so when we came to her house her husband opened the door and told her "your friends are here" and she came over and was sooo happy to see me again. She had said that she had been hoping we would come back and so for months she was looking for us on the streets, but never found us. But it was a miracle to have been able to find her house again after 7months! She was so sweet! She even gave me a hug  with tears in her eyes as I was bearing testimony about prayer and that God loves her. She still is having a hard time with her son passing away...but she said she would pray about it. :)
I love missionary work! I love being able to feel the spirit constantly in my life! I know God loves each and everyone of us! He knows us! And cares about us! And I know we can ask at any moment for guidance and comfort!
Have a great week!
Love you all,
Sister Ramsay

Week 70 Last Transfer!

I will be transferred to Cyprus and I will end my mission there! I will also train a new sister over there! So this will be really fun! I am excited! She is from England. And that is all I know. :)
This week was a busy fun week! We went last monday ice skating with some of the elders. It was really fun! Some had never ice skated before so that made the experience even better :) haha
We also had a few more lessons with xaritini and she's getting ready for baptism. We also saw Nathanael. And he told me that he would have Sister Cigolini send me pictures of his baptism!! I will miss a lot of the people here! They have all touched my heart!
This week we also had two birthdays. It was Marie's (President Heder's daughter) and President's birthday. I made her birthday cake and we came to the mission home and surprised her with the senior couples and AP's. It was a lot of fun! For President we wrote each a letter to him and out it on a card for him.
This week we also had a training for when we start training again with the new sisters.
We also planned a family history finding activity. We went to a square, where there was lots of people and set up a stand so people could see and had family photos out and we started talking to people about families. It went really well on friday and saturday
And during the week we also went to see Mary and start her family serach account. And we were able to get a name ready for the temple. She was sooo happy! It was really wonderful!
We also had Zone Training this week! A bunch of elders are going home next week so they gave their final testimonies. And the meeting was really good! The Zone Leaders talked about the Atonement and what it means to them. It was really inspiring. I learned so much from that meeting! And I want to invite all of you to find out for yourself what the Atonement means to you. Because as I have thought about it...I've come to realize it means everything! I need the Atonement everyday!
I love being here! And I hope you all have a great week!

Week 69 Happy New Year!

I hope everyone is doing well! It is so great to start the new year! A bit crazy of a thought to think its already 2017, but I am sure it will be a great year!
This week we saw Nathanael a few times and he is doign really great! He is progressing and still super excited about his baptism! haha
He is really fun to teach! I love being able to be here and see how much the gospel is really for each and everyone! It is so personal to each person!
On Boxing Day we got together in the evening and played games and had a pizza competition between all the Athens missionaries. That was a lot of fun!
On Tuesday we had the Thess sisters over for an exchange! It was really cool to see them again and be able to learn more from them! We also had zone Conference this week! That was amazing! We heard testimonies from some of the missionaries leaving next week. It was a powerful meeting! The spirit was really strong! We also got some snow!! That was crazy! Its really cold here in Athens now! We also got together with all the missionaries to do variety show, where each companionship or missionary can share a talent or something funny! It was way fun! We all laughed a lot! We then had food and more games. On Friday we went to institute to translate for a member. And we also had a lesson with Carmen. She's so cute! There is a picture of Sister Cigolini and Carmen together. Carmen had received a snowman doll and  thought it was funny and so we all took a picture with it.
On Sunday Elder Kearon came to the Greek branch. And that was fun! He gave a beautiful message of starting the new year happy!
Konos also came to church and shared with us how he enjoyed being there and being able to feel that peace inside of him. I Know that going to church and can bring us sooo much peace and joy in our lives. I know that there we can feel of our Savior's love.
It was a good week! I hope you all enjoy the holidays!
Love you all!!

On Christmas Eve all the missionaries got together at the mission home to have dinner and a Christmas program done by President and the Senior couples. It was really good!
On Christmas we went to chruch in the morning and the primary had a cute Christmas Program! They sang cute songs! It was adorable! And the youth read some scriptures! It was great!
All of us missionaries here in Athens were invited to go eat lunch with a member. She made a lot of food for us! But it was so good!
