Week 30 Outside!

This week has been really good! We went outside:) We walked everywhere!! That is how we get from place A to place B. Even if it takes us 2hours....(haha). So, we went to go visit members this week! One of them being Leah. She didn't come to church last Sunday, because she was very sick and so we went to go visit her and it turned out she was at the beach with another member. So, we dropped off a cute little note and treat for her at the beach. We also went and visited Antonia. We helped her with her groceries and talked to her about the Joseph Smith movie we will be showing at church next Sunday. She told us she would try to bring a friend. So, that was good!
This week we also had a specialized training by the assistants to the President. They had a lot of good new things that we will be doing now! We will have new ways of finding. We were encouraged to "think outside of the box" and to think of new ideas. It was a good training.
This past Sunday we also met a lady named, Kathy. She was invited to church by a member. She is from the Philippines and has lived here for 5 years. Her daughters, and family are all back in the Philippines. She is here just working for her family. But, She is the sweetest woman ever! One of her daughters is my age and it was so funny...we were talking about family and the church and she stops the conversations and smiles and says,"you remind me of my daughter." It was as if in that moment she somehow started to trust us, because I reminded her of her daughter. She later gave us her number and told us we could meet up sometime to have a lesson. I know when we were with her at church she felt the spirit. She may not have exactly known what she was feeling...but I know she knew it was good.
I know the gospel bless lives. And I am so eternally grateful that I have it in my life! And that I can share it with others!
I love you all very much! Keep me posted!
Love,

Week 29 Inside

This week I was inside again. This may seem as a surprise to you all. But, I learned so much this week of what Christ needs me to be. I am blessed with the opportunity to reflect on who I am and who I am serving. It was a wonderful week! I read a lot of General Conference talks to prepare me for when we get to watch it. I am very excited. I also found a wonderful quote from one of the talks that I love! "Do not live for the moment but rather for the eternities." That quote gave me so much perspective of how we should be viewing our days. My knee is actually getting a lot better! I wanted to thank you all for your prayers. I have definitely felt them:)
I can walk a little bit better and without my crutches too! So progress is really coming along. I still wont be able to bike for a good while. I still have pain, but a lot less than I did before.
This week we were able to go to the church and help clean. We cleaned the inside and weeded the outside of the church.
Cyprus has started to become hot now. Summer is coming early. ha.
This past sunday was testimony meeting and I was able to sit in between two wonderful members! They have such a desire to do good! They asked me about my knee and how I was doing. They were so caring. I could definitely feel their love for me. The one lady to my side I had never met before asked all sorts of questions about me and then my knee. At the end of the conversation she smiled at me and said, "I'm proud of you." She didnt even know me...but that little phrase made me feel so much love and reassurance that everything will be okay:)
I know God blesses us and shows His love for us through people.
I hope you all have a great week!

Week 28 First Few Days in Cyprus! + Zone Conference in Athens

I don't know how to describe this place other than....Its Paradise!! Really, it is gorgeous! On the plane ride here I looked out the window and saw an island and was amazed that I was going to be serving there. And now here I am:) Its wonderful! Whats even better is the people. I havent had a lot of opportunities to talk to people, because of my knee. But I have gone to District meeting and met some of the missionaries here, who have told me all about the wonderful people here! The people here are very hard working and humble! I dont know them yet, but I love them! I also went to church on sunday and met a lot of the members here! They all have a light about them that just radiates! Its a blessing to be here and to see them and be able to learn from them! The members here work all week and only have sunday off. And every sunday they make church their priority. I love that! They are willing to do anything for the gospel! I hope someday I can become like them. Steadfast in the gospel. I love this work and cant wait to get out on my feet again! I know this work blesses lives!
I love you all:)
Have a great week!
